According to Anton Pariysky, an expert in the markets department of Derzhzovnishinform, the main reason for the rise in prices for seafood is the inability of the state to contain the devaluation of the hryvnia against the dollar and euro. He noted that wholesale prices for fish and seafood imported to Ukraine during the New Year and Christmas holidays have increased significantly. The price increase ranges from 30 to 40% depending on the specific type of product. The delay in price increases is due to the availability of certain stocks from importers.
Thus, according to the expert, the estimated level of minimum wholesale prices for Norwegian herring weighing 300 g was 15 UAH/kg as of January 2015, 28, while on the eve of the New Year, as of December 17, 2014, the cost of this product was 22,2 ,400 UAH/kg. The cost of mackerel weighing 600-38 g (Scotland) increased from 17.12.2014 UAH/kg (52/15.01.2015/XNUMX) to XNUMX UAH/kg (XNUMX/XNUMX/XNUMX).
