In the Kiev region, an entire arsenal of weapons was confiscated from illegal sand miners - pistols, machine guns and Brownings.
In the Boryspil district of the Kyiv region, police seized half a million hryvnia, 9 thousand dollars, a large number of weapons and trucks containing about 30 tons of sand from illegal sand miners.

This is stated in the message of the Department of Economic Protection of the National Police of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The police revealed the fact of illegal sand mining in the Boryspil region. A commercial structure carried out mining on an industrial scale without any permits. Based on this fact, the regional prosecutor’s office initiated criminal proceedings,” the report notes.
It is also reported that on September 8, on the basis of a court order, operatives of the economic protection department in the Kiev region of the National Police, investigators of the regional police for the procedural leadership of the prosecutor's office conducted a series of searches at the company's offices, at the place of residence of the organizers and at the sand extraction site.
“The police seized cars loaded with 30 tons of sand, equipment for mining, and documents on the financial and economic activities of the enterprise. In addition, more than half a million hryvnia, 9 thousand US dollars and a large number of weapons. In particular, TT pistols, Ford 12 Browning with a silencer, AKM 7.62, Axo 5.45 assault rifles and 2130 cartridges for them,” the message says.
Criminal proceedings were opened under Art. 364-1 and Art. 240 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
