A cartoon about how a Ukrainian woman became friends with a “monster” was sent to a film festival in Poland.
The Ukrainian animated film “The Wonderful Beast” has been selected to participate in the short film competition program of the 33rd Warsaw International Film Festival.

The State Committee for Cinematography of Ukraine reported this on its Facebook page, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The animated film “Wonderful Monster”, created with the support of the State Cinema of Ukraine, was selected for participation in the short film competition program of the 33rd Warsaw International Film Festival,” the message says.
It is noted that this animated film was created by the Red Dog studio with 100% support from the State Cinema Committee of Ukraine. The film project became the winner of the Fifth competitive selection of Goskino.
“The script was written based on the book of the same name by Alexander Dermansky. The director of the film is Sergei Melnichenko, the producer is Elena Golubeva,” the message says.
“A Wonderful Monster” is a story about the unusual friendship between the girl Sonya and the monster Chu, which is vividly filled with folklore, fantasy and real worlds,” notes the annotation to the cartoon..
