This statement was made in Kyiv during the celebrations dedicated to the anniversary of the birth of the leader of one of the branches of the OUN, Stepan Bandera, by the leader of the VO “Svoboda” Oleg Tyagnibok, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The speaker demanded that the authorities return the title of Hero of Ukraine to Bandera and legislate the recognition of the OUN-UPA as fighters for independence.
“And today’s government is simply obliged to return the decree on the title of Hero of Ukraine to Stepan Bandera, which was canceled by Yanukovych, a bandit and Moscow henchman,” said the Ukrainian politician. – This government is obliged to pass a law recognizing the OUN-UPA as a struggle for state independence of Ukraine. But, despite whatever decisions this liberal government makes, which came to these high positions on nationalist slogans, and now, as we see, has no intention of implementing nationalist ideas in the Ukrainian state, Bandera remains a hero.”
At the same time, the leader of the VO “Svoboda” claims that Bandera’s slogan “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to heroes!" became "a symbol of the struggle of Ukrainians for their freedom and independence."
As PolitNavigator reported, on the first day of the new year in Kyiv there wasnationalist march, during which its participants declared the rights of Ukraine to Kuban.
