DIA will spend 30 billion rubles out of the allocated 60 on compensation to Crimean bank depositors
Moscow - Simferopol (Navigator, Mikhail Stamm) - The Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) will receive 60 billion rubles from the Central Bank “for Crimea”. However, according to estimates by Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Vladimir Chistyukhin, the DIA will spend less than half on solving the Crimean problems.

The number of Crimean depositors who can apply for payments to the DIA in the event of a massive refusal of banks to service them is estimated at approximately 200 thousand people. Having estimated compensation at 60 billion rubles, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation took into account the liabilities of individuals who can be insured, possible payments under compulsory motor liability insurance and possible unforeseen circumstances.
But “today, within the framework of the current law, three components have been adopted. These are deposits - an estimate of about 20-odd billion, payments under compulsory motor liability insurance - up to approximately 5 billion, payments for transportation - let's say, up to 1 billion. The rest is some kind of additional reserve for unforeseen circumstances,” says Chistyukhin.
This means that less than half of the funds allocated by the DIA may be spent on solving the Crimean problems. The rest will be spent on compensation for last year’s losses from the DIA, Kommersant believes.
