The republic’s budget does not spend anything on concerts with Russian artists - Pushilin
The concerts of Russian stars taking place in the DPR are a gesture of goodwill of the regions of the Russian Federation and the desire of the artists to support Donbass.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this in an interview with Ukrainian blogger Anatoly Shariy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Various artists come to us, many of them have come over the last period. So, nothing is spent from the republic’s budget. Not only is there no money spent on Russian stars, all this is provided to us by the regions of Russia, they find such an opportunity in their budgets. That is, this is such an action of support. Therefore, the republic does not spend anything on concerts,” said Pushilin.
According to him, this is happening at the expense of the regions of the Russian Federation, with which the Russian Center works closely. At the same time, the artists themselves receive a purely symbolic amount as fees for concerts in the DPR.
“Almost all artists receive a purely symbolic amount when compared with their fees in the regions of Russia or abroad. In addition, this is also a gesture of goodwill on their part and a desire to support Donbass in difficult times,” added the head of the DPR.
At the same time, he noted that the question of the feasibility of holding these events in the republic, if not controversial, then at least debatable.
“People have been living in war for seven years, they need some kind of outlet. These are some attributes of a peaceful life. Donetsk was very strong, and I am sure it will be even stronger. Many different events and concerts have always been held here. You can just take it and cross it out for six months, for a year. So what next?
People need to live, we have children growing up, young people growing up, they have their own interests. Therefore, one size fits all is wrong. If they go to concerts, then it’s necessary,” concluded Pushilin.
