Answering questions from journalists after her speech, the German Chancellor urged not to bury the Minsk agreement.
“We were unable to ensure a ceasefire for a period of more than three to four days. So, from a formal point of view, we cannot begin the political process now. But since we are reasonable people, Ukraine has declared its readiness to begin parallel work. Therefore, various contact and working groups have been created. I encourage you not to talk about failures, but to focus. on ensuring success,” Merkel said.
“Of course, it would be great to fight with Russia against Islamist terror, build trade relations, create a free trade zone from Lisbon to Vladivostok, but we cannot abandon the principle of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and many other countries to which we owe.
