“On Red Square there is Zhirinovism, and in Belgorod there is Banderaism” - Zyuganov
Initiatives to desecrate mass graves on Red Square and the demolition of the Lenin monument in Belgorod are a “disgrace” for a country that is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov during a press approach of representatives of factions in the State Duma, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We see Zhirinovism, which is spreading like a dirty puddle across Red Square, offering to dig up mass graves, including 32 marshals and generals who forged our Victory. This is a disgrace for a country that is celebrating its 75th anniversary.
Our Foreign Minister wonders why this is happening in Poland or the Baltic states. Why be surprised when there is a mayor in Belgorod who demolishes a monument to Lenin and pretends that it’s nothing... He apparently became infected with Banderaism, which is nearby in Ukraine,” said the leader of the Communist Party.
“We are preparing a speech to the president; we believe that the president has enough powers under the new constitution to stop this violence,” Zyuganov added.
Earlier, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky said that the presence of a “cemetery” in the center of Moscow is “unacceptable” and made a proposal to move “all burials from Red Square” to the resting place of relatives, where “festivals, fairs are held, football and hockey are played.” .
