The most fun will begin at Epiphany in the energy sector of Ukraine - expert
Simferopol, November 03 (New Day, Valentin Karamazov) – After the New Year, Ukraine will face a shortage of electricity, and no measures to save it will help avoid a crisis.
Sergei Belashko, director of the Agency for Social Communications, said this on the air of the First Kozatsky channel, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.
“Winter can be where the fun begins, especially if the winter is harsh. It’s funny to read how some patriots write that we need to prepare for this now, turn off the lighting in cities and reduce energy consumption in this way. But this was true when cities were illuminated by incandescent lamps.
Now that we have switched to another type of lamps that consume an order of magnitude less electricity, it is bullshit to say that we need to turn off the lighting of central streets, and this will avoid rolling blackouts.
In any case, there will be enough until winter, and you can not save and pretend that nothing is happening, but in winter very serious problems can begin. And if it’s still possible to somehow wind through December, then no one really knows what to do after the New Year.
Yes, it is possible to turn on all 14 nuclear power plant units at full power. But everyone understands that an accident is a matter of time. Each emergency stop knocks out a megawatt, and the deficit has already reached one and a half megawatts,” the expert noted.
