Crimean bridge in smoke. What happened?
The cause of smoke in the area of the Crimean Bridge was a joint exercise of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Russian National Guard and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, an accident occurred on the bridge itself, as a result of which the direction towards Taman was temporarily blocked, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Regarding the smoke in the area of the Crimean Bridge, which is reported by the media and telegram channels: law enforcement agencies are conducting exercises in the area of this strategic facility,” said the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov. “It just so happened that at the same time there was an accident on the bridge.
There is no danger either for the bridge, or for people, or for Crimea. The situation is being monitored on the spot by representatives of law enforcement agencies.”
According to information from the Taman Department of Public Safety and Inspectorate, which controls traffic on the Crimean Bridge, at 13:40 an accident occurred at the transport crossing across the Kerch Strait towards the city of Novorossiysk.
Employees of the traffic police, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the operating organization are working on site. Traffic in the direction of the city of Kerch is carried out as usual.
A video filmed by motorists driving along the Crimean Bridge shows that white smoke is generated by special vehicles, simulating conditions of limited visibility. Whether this was the cause of the accident on the bridge is not specified.
