Ukrainians liable for military service continue to flee the country on boats across mountain rivers
In an attempt to avoid mobilization, Ukrainian residents continue to attempt to cross the border illegally.
This was reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent, reported by the information portal "News of Transcarpathia".
“A resident of the Ternopil region had to pay 7 thousand euros for the opportunity to drown himself in the Tisa. The carriers set a price for his two “companions,” residents of the Kiev and Lviv regions, at 10 thousand dollars and 5 thousand dollars.
Two more accomplices, a resident of the Kharkov and Ternopil regions, did not know how much they had to pay for their trip, since their mothers, who are now abroad, agreed with the carriers on the conditions of their voyage with a likely fatal ending,” the publication notes.
The whole group tried to get to Hungary.
One of the detainees said that they were promised “an easy and quick transition without rivers or water.” But when they arrived in Transcarpathia, they were brought to the mountain river Tisza, given a rubber boat and told that they would have to swim across.
“300 meters before the state border, the border guards of the Vilok department of the Mukachevo detachment discovered the violators. The attackers, ignoring the legal requirements of the squad, tried to escape, but were detained and taken to the border unit,” the report says.
