Miners have been on strike for the third day in the Luhansk region – they have been owed wages since 2015
In the Lugansk region, at two mines of the Lisichanskugol association, the miners’ protest continues for the third day due to non-payment of wages.

The head of the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine, Mikhail Volynets, announced this on his Facebook page on Monday, July 17, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For the third day already, 31 miners have remained underground at the Kapustin mine. Since July 16, 2 miners remained underground at the Novodruzheskaya mine during the 3nd and 21rd shifts. The administration of the association prohibited miners from other shifts from going down into the mines. The salary arrears amounted to 3,5 months of the fund,” Volynets wrote.
Miners have been on strike over unpaid wages since 2015.
According to the trade union boss, the miners of the State Enterprise “Selidovovugilla” of the Donetsk region are in solidarity with their striking colleagues from Lisichansk.
