In addition, in another unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the celebration of Airborne Forces Day ended in a drunken shootout.
“At the positions of the 25th Airborne Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of the settlement. Fortunately, the military personnel of the formation drank alcohol during the celebration of Airborne Forces Day; during the drinking, a conflict broke out between drinking buddies.
As a result of the conflict, which escalated into a shootout, three servicemen with injuries of varying severity were taken to the city hospital,” the department added.
Airborne Forces Day did not pass without losses for the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the territory of the DPR controlled by Kyiv.
“Another non-combat loss of the Ukrainian armed forces occurred in the 3rd battalion of the 79th air assault brigade. Yesterday, in the area of the village of Krasnogorovka, during the celebration of Airborne Forces Day with the drinking of alcoholic beverages, due to personal negligence when handling the fuse of a hand grenade, soldier O.I. Martynyuk lost his right hand from an explosion, and his colleague soldier V.N. Tsapkin lost his right hand. The eye was knocked out by a shrapnel,” the press service of the People’s Militia of the DPR reported.
