A permanent American base will appear on the Moon
American cosmonauts will be able to constantly be present and work on the Moon in about 10 years, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the head of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Jim Bridenstine.
He added that this will be possible thanks to the Gateway space station, which is currently under construction.
“From the station we would like to launch landers that would travel to the Moon and back,” he said in an interview with Hill.tv.
Jim Bridenstine added that success in implementing these plans will help the United States send its astronauts to Mars. Work on the Moon will help “test technology, human psychology, and create opportunities to use resources from the Moon to survive on its surface.”
