Natalya Timko, chief freelance specialist of the health department of the Lvov Regional State Administration for epidemiology, told reporters about this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“An outbreak of measles has been declared in Ukraine. There are more than a thousand cases of the disease in 15 administrative territories of the country. If we talk about the Lviv region, then today we have 54 cases of measles. Last year there were only 4 cases,” Timko noted.
According to her, only 50 percent of children received protection from this dangerous disease. Parents deliberately refuse to vaccinate their children, putting their health at risk. The situation is the same with whooping cough.
