There were nails sticking out in the ankle boots they were given, and the soldiers could tear off their shoes with their bare hands. Deputy Yaroslav Mudry announced this today during a meeting of the temporary commission of the Lviv Regional Council for assistance to units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Lviv region.
The deputy showed gutted combat boots and said that the soldier tore them apart with his bare hands.
“On the second day after these shoes were distributed to the soldiers, they began to tear on their feet. The material from which it is made resembles cardboard rather than leather. These boots are not able to retain moisture. In addition, they are full of nails that damage the soldiers' feet. If you step on a mine with such a boot, you can not only lose a limb, but also injure other parts of the body with the same nails. These shoes do not meet the standards,” said the deputy.
As Yaroslav the Mudry noted, the Lviv Regional Council allocated 1 million UAH for the third territorial defense battalion, but the soldiers did not receive quality items.
“The soldiers, of course, are ready to go defend Ukraine from the enemy even barefoot, but they have the impression that they were abandoned. Those who allow this to happen are committing a crime,” assures Wise, as quoted by Galinfo.
He also added that the ankle boots were made by the First Shoe Factory of Kyiv and cost 240 UAH.
As Navigator reported, yesterday relatives of the Lviv paratroopers said that the military had to hunt to feed themselves in the Lugansk region.
