In the Lviv region, the head of the migration service was given five years with confiscation for extorting bribes from subordinates

The head of the regional Lviv migration service and his deputy, who “climbed” the career ladder on the Maidan wave, decided to take advantage of the new order of things and began to threaten the heads of the department’s regional divisions with dismissals and other heavenly punishments if they did not pay three thousand dollars each, and did not pay monthly “unfasten” another one and a half thousand hryvnia to the top. To the feeble attempts to object, because the provincial Ukrainian official does not have a very large salary, the victims heard verbatim: “take the fines in cash, make money by speeding up the issuance of passports!”

As a result, the heads of three regional departments - Nikolaevsky, Peremylyansky and Sambirsky - turned to the police against the extortionists. According to them, extortion of bribes lasted from May to September 2014 inclusive. The rest of their colleagues were apparently satisfied with this state of affairs.

Court  sentenced new feudal lords to five years in prison with confiscation of property and deprivation of the rank of civil servant.
