On Lviv TV, Moldovans were declared “Russified Romanians”
Ukrainian “experts” denied the Moldovans the right to be called a separate nation. Thus, the co-author of the first Ukrainian book in the Latin alphabet, historian Dmitry Savchenko, on the talk show “Direct Text” on the Lvov TV channel ZiK, said that Moldovans are Russified Romanians who were “imposed” on the Cyrillic alphabet.

“1917 was a significant year for Moldova. Something like our Central Rada gathers there, and they unanimously decide to merge with Romania. Well, because they are one united people. There are no Moldovans, Moldovans were invented by the Soviet government. Moreover, Moldovans were the architects of the Romanian state. As soon as Russia lost Moldova, it creates Moldova on the territory of Ukraine – this is Transnistria and develops an alphabet in Cyrillic,” Savchenko said.
