During the May holidays, Crimea broke all Ukrainian records
During the May holidays, a record number of tourists vacationed in Crimea for the entire post-Soviet period. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Resorts of the Republic, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the department, from April 29 to May 10, 520 thousand people visited Crimea - this is 72% more than in the previously record year 2019.
“The flow of motor tourists has increased significantly: for the first time, 75% of the total number of vacationers who visited the region during the holidays arrived through the Crimean Bridge. The share of autotourists this year is 19% more than in the same period in 2019. Another 20% of guests arrived by air, 4% by rail, and less than 1% across the border with Ukraine,” the report says.
The Ministry of Resorts also noted that the average occupancy of Crimean hotels during the May holidays was more than 70%. At the same time, five-star hotels were 95% occupied, and more budget accommodation bases were about 75%.
Earlier, PolitNavigator wrote that Crimean hotels have already so filled with tourists that they close bookings for the summer season.
