Rely on McCain, but don’t make a mistake yourself - the Kiev expert threw a cold shower on the sect of “believers in the State Department”

About it Kiev political scientist Oleg Pokalchuk writes in his blog for the publication “Left Bank”.
“The wonderful Senator McCain came to us again. He said a lot of touching and resonating words. And he left. Not all. He left the belief that when he returned home, he would resolve issues with the Republicans, Trump, and we would all be wearing products of NATO standards, shining with beautifully blued metal and expensive optics, like Christmas trees. Those in power, according to this faith, are the humble apostles of the Church of the State Department. The same cherubs, that is, senators, secretly form a union of support for Ukraine and sing to the State Department that we need money, and more,” he writes.
In reality, according to Pokalchuk, the day after returning from Ukraine, Senators McCain and Graham received a “cold shower” from Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell regarding their initiatives to further investigate Russian cyber attacks on the US presidential election.
“Republicans didn’t really want (or pretended that they didn’t really want) to find out the details of Russian aggression on the Internet. McConnell also blocked the public release of information about what happened in the run-up to the election and said he preferred the Senate Intelligence Committee to investigate the hacking. In short, McConnell “built” our brave heroes, and they, without much hesitation, supported him. We agreed to consider the issue in the committee,” notes Pokalchuk.
According to him, in the rather complex hierarchy of the American intelligence community, “the above-mentioned Committee is not visible there even with a good magnifying glass.”
“Senator McCain is really influential. He serves on four committees, including intelligence and national security. There are no uninfluential senators in America; this is not Brussels. But all the influences of any American politician at any level are subordinated to one thing - they are, first of all, patriots of America. Not Ukraine, Georgia, Russia, hundreds of other countries with “special relations” - namely the USA. And all their activities are quite rightly aimed at the prosperity and well-being of their own country. I don’t even know what words to repeat this in, so that such a simple thought becomes not just the property of the overexcited political masses of Ukraine, but turns into a guide to action,” writes Oleg Pokalchuk.
Pokalchuk draws the attention of Ukrainian society to the fact that “the benevolent democratic series about the selfless love of the United States for developing democracies is over. Biden’s arrival is not the second season, but the end credits.” According to the political scientist, “A completely different struggle is unfolding there.”
“This is the kitchen,” the Ukrainian expert sums up a brief overview of the balance of power within the Republican camp in the United States and adds, “And our senator is, well, a senior cook in it. But we believe that McCain will oust everyone if it comes to Ukraine? But what we dream about is that an American senator will fulfill our dreams, as if we are American citizens, and he is our senator from the state of Ukraine, so this is a little strange,” the expert sums up.
