Restoration work is being carried out by Maidan activists themselves - some of them have been in the tent city since the first days of the revolution, reports TVNZ.
“We have been on the Maidan since the first days. Our tent was located near the conservatory. And while we are here, we joined the initiative to restore Grushevsky, since our hands are already missing work. It's spring and it's nice to work. We're glad we survived. Of course, my heart is sad because we lost our guys. But life goes on - so now we are laying the pavement.
It's already more fun. The paving stones and financing were provided by Poroshenko’s people,” said builder Mikhailo from Nadvirna, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
“The restoration of the paving stones did not begin until the 40-day mourning period for the victims had passed. Work started this week. The barricades still remain, and people are on the Maidan. When it is possible to move them and continue the work above, we will inform the relevant services. The sidewalk is being restored now - this is a good thing. And thanks to Poroshenko, who kept his promise. It’s nice that a person doesn’t say too much, but only what he can do. Said and done,” said self-defense centurion Oleg Mikhnyuk.
