In the Mykolayiv region, the memorial to the “Heavenly Hundred” and “ATO Heroes” was destroyed
In the center of Pervomaisk in the Mykolaiv region, unknown persons smashed a memorial to the “heroes of the heavenly hundred” and poured paint on a slab with the names of dead militants of the so-called “ATO”.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police of the Nikolaev region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
So, the police said that on December 8, at about 7:20, the district department received a message from the head of the housing and communal services department of Pervomaisk that in the center of the city unknown persons had “damaged and desecrated with inscriptions” the memorial to the “heroes of the heavenly hundred” and ATO militants.
Investigators opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Hooliganism” means up to five years of restriction of freedom.
“The vandals destroyed not only this memorial, but also mocked the complex in memory of the fallen soldiers in Donbass. Their names were covered in red paint and desecrated with inscriptions,” they commented in a TSN story on oligarch Igor Kolomoisky’s 1+1 TV channel.
They noted that the memorial and the park were created in 2014 at the expense of local residents. On the slabs filled with paint, 18 names of dead ATO militants, natives of the Mykolayiv region, are stamped.
“The names of ATO soldiers were painted over. These children died, we immortalized their names in the names of our streets, someone didn’t like it,” said the TV channel’s interlocutor.
