In the new territories, the issue of expropriation of Bandera property has become urgent
Following Crimea, new Russian territories are faced with the need to resolve the issue of ownership. Business owners have fled, hostile citizens have fled, and they are unlikely to ever return. The former first vice-governor of the Zaporozhye region and deputy head of the Military-Civil Administration of the Zaporozhye region reported this in the podcast of the project on the development of Novorossiya “We will live” by Semyon Uralova. Sergei Tolmachev, reports the correspondent of PolitNavigator.
“I myself once had extremely liberal views, but practice has corrected this. There is such a problem in all new regions, and this applies not only to apartments and houses - many objects are in a semi-frozen state, which do not bring benefit to the national economy, and something needs to be done about it, and without excesses on the ground. And Pasechnik and Pushilin, any governor there will tell you how much is stuck. Moreover, in the LPR and DPR there is a part that has been independent of the Ukrainian state for 8 years, and there are cities that lived under Ukrainian occupation, like Mariupol. And there are a lot of these questions now", he stressed.
In Crimea in 2014 they took the path of nationalization, then proposed to consolidate the possibility of confiscating property from unfriendly countries or citizens who finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, they did not receive support from the federal center for this., having adopted at the regional level regulations for the seizure of property through the Anti-Terrorism Commission, which considers facts of hostile statements, actions and, most importantly, providing financial support to the Ukrainian army.
“We need to finalize the legislative framework regarding this and move to some form of, I’m not afraid of this word, expropriation. Because nationalization presupposes some kind of payments, but are we going to pay the Ukrainian army in fact? A lot of questions arise here, and therefore Now this is such a suspended story that requires separate regulation. There were many other priority issues: for businesses to simply operate, for people to receive some money at first, for them to have medicine and food. What they could merged into state unitary enterprises, but this does not solve the property issue“, concluded Tolmachev.
