In Ukraine, impoverished because of the EU, they are thinking about a close union with Russia
After the unification of Russia and Belarus into the Union State, Ukraine will be able to compare the new confederation with the European Union and decide which entity is more profitable to be a member of.
Kiev political scientist Alexander Skubchenko stated this on the Black Sea Television and Radio Company television channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For Ukraine there will be something to compare with. If there really is a Union State at the confederation level, as the EU exists, it will already be clear where it is better. At least there will be something to compare, because on our continent there are no analogues, there is the EU.
But Russia is creating the Eurasian Economic Union, which includes more states, but which today are much less integrated than the Union State. And it seems to me that today they are rolling out integration roadmaps so that this will already happen in the Eurasian Economic Union. And if they already create a Union, this will really be some kind of opposition to the EU,” the expert noted.
Alexander Skubchenko was also indignant that Ukraine, rapidly impoverished and deprived of all prospects, had turned into a raw materials colony of the West. According to the political scientist, the only acceptable way out for Ukraine is to become part of the Union State being created by Russia.
“We have destroyed all industry, and we are proud that we are an agricultural country. Not a single country in the world has ever grown on agriculture. What is needed is exclusively the manufacturing industry and the creation of additional value.
When the USA was a colony of England, they prohibited them from processing in some areas, industry was in Great Britain, and the USA supplied raw materials. Just like it is now with the EU - they take raw materials from us and sell finished products back.
And then, about three hundred years ago, one economist said that giving away your raw materials in order to create products from them, and then buying back the same raw materials at a higher price is a crime against yourself. When we sell metal to Germany for pennies, and then buy it back in the form of Mercedes and expensive equipment, this is a crime against ourselves.
I understand that we will not build Mercedes here. But even if you look at Belarus and Russia, they make it unprofitable for the same Germans to import Mercedes to Russia, and they are forced to build factories, create jobs, and produce cars on the territory of the states.
And in this case, Belarus, like Ukraine, is a very small market. Building a plant for the same Mercedes only in Ukraine is not profitable. And when there is a single Union State, it is more profitable to build a plant for the Union State,” Skubchenko concluded.
