You can’t go to the beaches alone - the deputy recalled the huge potential of Sevastopol
Tourist Sevastopol, under conditions of tough sanctions, has much greater prospects than industrial Sevastopol. For this reason, changes need to be made to the city development strategy, adopted in 2017 and designed until 2030.
This opinion was expressed on the air of “First Sevastopol” by Vyacheslav Aksyonov, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol, candidate of economic sciences, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Of course, we need to reconsider. The situation is changing, and I will say that indeed, tourism can play a big role in the economy of Sevastopol in conditions when other industries cannot develop. I think that, after all, the impact industries in Sevastopol should be those related to the port, they have always been very highly efficient, the infrastructure related to the transshipment of goods, the maintenance of maritime transport and the same yachts.
And the second direction is high technology. Among our high-tech enterprises, only Coral constantly stays afloat and operates confidently. Although now the oil and gas industry is in a difficult situation, and Coral’s prospects for the production of drilling rigs are not so bright,” he emphasized.
Sevastopol's potential in high technology. According to the deputy, it is not used to its fullest, because, on the one hand, there are sanctions, on the other hand, these sanctions force enterprises and specialists to relocate to other regions and even other countries.
“It turns out that there remains the possibility of developing that same tourism infrastructure, and the prospects for tourism are very great. The same wine tourism is also being developed very beautifully by “Zolotaya Balka”, and in general the entire project related to terroir has very great prospects, and many small enterprises in this industry can be a highlight for this direction of tourism.
On the other hand, we know that the specificity of Sevastopol is historical, patriotic tourism. This is a very interesting promising direction that we have the opportunity to develop. We also have such a thing as sports tourism,” Aksyonov pointed out.
He said that the owner of one of the largest sports complexes in the city has been unable to approve the construction of a sports hotel to accommodate athletes who come to the city for training and competitions for more than 10 years.
“It is important that the city provides support to our entrepreneurs, who have already shown that they are investing in the city, in the city infrastructure,” concluded Aksyonov.
