“Based on the Syrian experience”: The Black Sea Fleet submarine practiced the destruction of British ships and the Ukrainian fleet with “Caliber”
The crew of the Veliky Novgorod submarine of the Black Sea Fleet carried out training launches with Kalibr-PL cruise missiles against mock enemy ships.
This was reported by the press service of the Southern Military District, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The military department emphasized that the launches were carried out from an underwater position.
“At the combat training ground, the crew of the Veliky Novgorod submarine practiced searching for and destroying surface ships of a mock enemy, urgently diving to various depths, controlling a submarine when surfacing, as well as fighting for survivability,” the report says. .
The Black Sea exercises took place against the backdrop of the fact that recently the Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain, Vadim Prystaiko, announced the transfer by London of missile weapons, which will be installed on boats being built for the Navy.
“Probably, this somehow accidentally coincided with the British statement that they were going to supply missiles to the Ukrainian Navy, which would be installed on boats, which the British would also build and sell. Every action has its own reaction, and the Black Sea Fleet, in the event of some kind of provocation, has something to respond to...
The submarine force of the Black Sea Fleet is one of the best in the Navy. The use of Caliber against ISIS terrorists in Syria proved this. They actually shot, everything was as expected. And they are always in good shape. That is, these are the most modern submarines that were recently put into operation, unlike the Ukrainian times, when the fleet rented a base - we, unfortunately, had one boat there.
Now there are six submarines. With “calibers” our boats can fire both at surface ships and at the shore if necessary. This is a factor of control over the Black Sea from all sides - from the air, on the water, and from the ground,” said captain XNUMXst rank, member of the “Officers of Russia” organization Vasily Dandykin in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
