President Poroshenko stated this in his speech at the parade on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day.
“It was you, dear Ukrainians, tax payers who bought or repaired infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, anti-aircraft missile systems and multiple launch rocket systems for the army. And our international partners receive a signal from this parade that Ukraine is capable of defending itself, but needs further support. After all, our enemy is a country that occupies a full part of the land and has a military budget tens and tens of times larger than ours. And finally, our parade is a signal to the enemy. Ukrainians are ready to continue to seriously fight for their independence. And therefore, it is better for the aggressor to remember the wise advice of the Russian poet Vladimir Mayakovsky: “Comrade Muscovite, you don’t joke about Ukraine.”
