“Today we also have to confront the Nazi evil spirits with arms in hand. The Ukrainian followers of Bandera and Shukhevych set themselves the task of destroying the people of Donbass, shaking the Russian world, and planting an ideology alien to us on our land. The enemy came to our land again, and we, like our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, stood up to defend our freedom.

But they did not take into account that the Donetsk character cannot be broken. After all, we are fighting for our freedom and the future of our children. For the right to speak your native language. Honor the memory of your ancestors and your traditions. We are ready to give our lives for this.

Today's parade is a symbol of our indomitability, a demonstration of our power. This is a connection between generations, a connection between two different, but so similar wars. And like our ancestors, we will win!” – said the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko.

Then military personnel of the DPR army, employees of the law enforcement agencies of the Republic, as well as cadets of the military school marched in formation. In addition, a parade squad from the Republic of South Ossetia passed through the column. They were followed by tanks, artillery systems and other weapons onto Lenin Square.

In total, over 70 units of military equipment and more than 1500 personnel were involved in the parade.

The second part of the march saw the passage of military equipment, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, self-propelled artillery, guns and mortars. The column of military equipment was led by equipment from the Great Patriotic War: the Soviet T-34 tank, BM-13 Katyusha and ZiS-5 combat vehicles with the ZiS-3 anti-tank gun.

Also at the parade were military equipment of the DPR Armed Forces: BTR-80 armored personnel carriers, BMP-1 and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, tanks, Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems, Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile systems, artillery systems, 120- mm mortars, ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns.

It should be noted that the legendary Soviet staff car GAZ-67 from the Great Patriotic War took part in the parade for the first time.

The parade ended with the procession of the Immortal Regiment.
