This was reported by the press service of the Unified Transport Directorate.
The operational meeting was attended by representatives of the directorate, the administration of the Krasnodar Territory, the Temryuk region, the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Crimea, Rosmorport, Rosmorrechmorflot, the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Traffic Inspectorate and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The main topic of the meeting was the readiness of the Kerch crossing to operate in adverse weather conditions.
“Since there are not enough berth walls at the crossing, in good weather priority should be given to large-capacity ferries. In case of strong winds, it is necessary to use small-capacity ferries, the technical characteristics of which allow them to operate at wind speeds of up to 25 m/s; the rest of the time they will be in the roads,” noted Maxim Sokolov.
Let us remind you that early on Wednesday morning, wind gusts in the Kerch Strait reached a speed of 35 m/s.
