Ukraine allocates 500 times less for a migrant than for an official
The government of Ukraine allocates a million hryvnia a year for the maintenance of an official dealing with the problems of internally displaced persons, and only 2000 hryvnia for each of the displaced people themselves.
The head of the public organization “Public Audit” Maxim Goldarb stated this in his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons. We have one and a half million people who were forced to leave their homes because of the war. Three billion hryvnias are allocated for them annually – for one and a half million people. This is 2000 hryvnia per year. Do you know how much is allocated for the life of the ministry itself? There are 119 people on staff there. 2020 million hryvnia are planned for 150. This is a million hryvnia per year for each official in this ministry,” the expert said.
“The question immediately arises: what is the problem? Where is the simplification of receiving social benefits and pensions for both displaced people and those who now live in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions? Where are the president’s promises to “cross the border only once a year” and not once every two months? Where is it in this government program? Where is the increase in the budget for migrants? Why does an official get a million a year, and a displaced person get 2000 hryvnia?” asked Goldarb.
