Against the backdrop of impending losses after the launch of Nord Stream 2 and problems if Ukraine accepts refugees from Afghanistan, the $2,7 billion transferred from the IMF to Kyiv seems like a pitiful handout.

Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexandra Kuzhel stated this on the Nash TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Why did they give us 2 billion? If they gave compensation so that we would not say a word against Nord Stream, that’s one question, because we receive $3 billion for gas transit annually, and if Nord Stream goes differently, then we lose.

If this is partial compensation for such a political decision, then it is not a gift, it cannot even be called a bribe, because a bribe must have some kind of economic benefit. This is such a payoff, you gave a pie to someone begging on the street!” said Kuzhel.

On the other hand, the ex-deputy added, if these funds are related to the issue of accepting refugees from Afghanistan, then this is also a very small amount.

“Because we cannot spend a single penny from the budget on this issue, because we have done nothing for our citizens who left the temporarily occupied territories...

This is the attitude towards your citizens. This really hurts me, because these are people who gave up everything, this is a terrible thing - both Crimeans, and from Donetsk, and from Lugansk. This is not accepted,” Svidomo Kuzhel was indignant.
