All tickets for trains to Crimea have been sold out, but restaurateurs complain about the lack of customers
From July 4, an additional train from Moscow will be launched to Crimea. The train consists entirely of compartment cars, and by October 1 will provide an additional 43 thousand tickets on the Crimean route, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The carrier will launch a new additional train between Moscow and Simferopol.
“The cost of tickets is fixed and does not change depending on demand,” the press service of the carrier company “Grand Service Express” clarified.
However, there remains a shortage of train tickets to Crimea. For July-August there are no free seats in the compartment, and a ticket in a luxury carriage costs 96 thousand rubles.
The route to the peninsula through the airports of Mineralnye Vody, Stavropol and Sochi with a transfer to trains or buses is also not cheap and takes two days, while the average duration of a vacation is two weeks.
June showed that a 30 percent drop in passenger traffic due to closed airports resulted in a 35 percent occupancy rate in the resort sector. Half of the revenue was lost to display facilities and catering: attendance at Sevastopol restaurants fell by half due to the cancellation of flights and a decrease in tourist flow, the Union of Restaurateurs of the city reported.
However, the Ministry of Resorts of Crimea advises to wait for the high season - there will be a load.
“If we talk about the tourist flow this year, it is still at the level of 2019,” Vadim Volchenko, Minister of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea, said on OSN. – But now, after the 20th, the season is so called, that is, the number of people is clearly increasing. And now is a very good time to purchase holidays and tours for July and August. Due to dynamic pricing, a number of hotels have announced discounts, and now the prices are more than attractive.”
According to the minister, at the peak of the season, a week-long vacation for two in a three-star hotel can be purchased for 30 thousand rubles. In premium class properties the cost is higher, but there are some great deals here too.
Already in July, the occupancy of facilities will increase to 80% and the remaining available rooms will become more expensive. According to Volchenko, there will be a tourist flow of 10 million vacationers in 2025, which is what the Crimean leadership is targeting.
Earlier, Speaker of the Crimean Parliament Vladimir Konstantinov predicted 6,5 million tourists by the end of the year. Last year, Crimea received 9,5 million vacationers.
