On Polish TV they said that they will live quietly without Ukraine

This statement was made by the head of the political cabinet of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Jan Paris. RMF24 reports this.
“I would like to clearly say that a strong and independent Ukraine is important for Poland, but it is a lie that the existence of Ukraine is a necessary condition for the existence of a free Poland,” he said.
“After Britain leaves the EU, Poland will be the fifth state in the EU, Poland is a member of NATO, is the main state of the eastern flank and will exist regardless of what happens in Ukraine, whether the situation there is better or worse,” the diplomat said.
He noted that the statement about Ukraine as a condition for the existence of Poland is unfair.
Jan Paris also accused the Ukrainians of falsifying history and persecuting the Polish minority. According to him, Ukrainian officials have the wrong vision of Poland, since they draw it from Gazety Wyborcej.
“As long as it stays this way, they will continue to make mistakes. They believe that Warsaw is weak, isolated and needs Ukraine. Not true. It is Ukraine that needs Poland. Poland can live quite well without Ukraine,” the diplomat said.
