According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, employees of the special unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who were escorting detained pro-Russian activists from the eastern regions through the Poltava region, were attacked.
As the police said, at the entrance to the village of Reshetilovka, an unknown person in a VAZ-2121 car tried to interfere with the movement of the convoy column.
“This was regarded as an attack on the convoy and firearms were used. The man who was in the Niva died, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
An investigative team of the police and prosecutor's office, as well as the regional leadership of all law enforcement agencies, are now working at the scene of the incident, the report says.
