This was announced by the director of the local department of information activities and communications with the public, Vadim Stefan.
“On the territory of the Poltava region, three monuments remained undecommunized. In particular, this is a monument to Nikolai Podgorny in Karlovka. The fact is that local residents opposed the dismantling of this facility, saying that despite the fact that Podgorny was a member of the Communist Party, he fought against fascism,” Stefan noted.
According to the official, two more monuments are now located on the territory of private enterprises: this is a monument to Friedrich Engels and Vladimir Lenin.
“Previously, these facilities were built on the territory of collective farms, which were later privatized. Now these two monuments are located on the territory of private agricultural firms, that is, they are on the balance sheet of private farms,” the official explained.
