A billion was spent on promoting Navalny in a week
At least a billion rubles were spent on advertising the film of the Russian liberal blogger Alexei Navalny on social networks and organizing events in its support.
Political scientist Oleg Matveychev writes about this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, this amount is equal to the annual budget of the Anti-Corruption Fund headed by Navalny.
“About money. We got together with technologists from different cities this evening. Everyone told what they knew. How much did they pay in his city for the buyout of a local public house under Navalny? As a result, according to calculations, it turned out that about 1 billion rubles were spent throughout the country in a week. That is 15 million dollars. In advertising the film and organizing events through the network. Through public pages and bloggers. Well, someone financed it.
This is, in fact, FBK’s two-year budget from donations, but here it is for a week. Who paid? Judging by the fact that Navalny’s film is a translation from English, they paid,” Matveychev said.
Let us remind you that last weekend, protests by Navalny’s supporters took place in different cities of Russia, demanding the release of the liberal, who is in jail on charges of fraud.
