There is a high turnout at the referendum in Donetsk - “Russian bloc”
Donetsk, May 11 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The referendum for self-determination of the Donetsk region is proceeding much calmer than the elections that were previously held to the Verkhovna Rada, local councils, or presidential ones.

The leader of the Donetsk regional organization of the Russian Bloc party, Natalia Bilotserkovskaya, told Navigator about this, based on her observations.
“People are in a great mood. There is none of the nervousness that was usually present on voting day in previous elections. There is cohesion, but no one spies on each other, there are no “carousels,” said Bilotserkovskaya. “We don’t know what the republic will be like, but people don’t want the return of fascism, what Kyiv is imposing, what they did in Slavyansk and Odessa.”
According to her, the queues at specific polling stations depend on who lives at a particular polling station. In her opinion, some people traditionally want to vote early in order to free up the day for personal matters, some - for example, in rural areas - will come after trading in the markets ends, some - after the end of their shifts at factories. But we can already say that voter turnout is high.
Natalya Bilotserkovskaya admitted that, according to her observations, some of the commission members did not come to work, the rest were trying to conscientiously fulfill their duties. She also attributes the delays and queues to the fact that members of election commissions have to manually record voter data, since access to voter registers has been closed.
“All people feel responsible and take the voting process seriously. If there are no provocations, then everything will go fine. I think, as planned, by 22:00 everyone will vote,” says Natalya Bilotserkovskaya.
As Navigator reported, today referendums on regional self-determination are being held in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
