This was reported by the press service of the Vinnytsia City Council.

It is reported that 8 million hryvnia from the city budget and the budget of the Vinnitsa transport company were spent on the reconstruction of the tram.

“It is definitely profitable to produce, because we have eight million, and in terms of parameters it is no worse than the Lviv one, which costs 26 million. The difference is noticeable, I’m not talking about Polish or Czech trams, which cost 1,5 million euros. This is one tram made this year, the second tram is undergoing testing, it takes a month and a half to certify it so that it can go on the route. Taking into account the possibilities of the city budget, three such trams are planned annually. there will be greater financial opportunities, the issue of increasing the number of tram production will be considered. The conveyor has started working, but this is manual work, this is the work of specific people,” said mayor Sergei Morgunov.

For their work on the new Vinnytsia tram, the depot workers were awarded certificates and gratitude from the Vinnytsia City Council and cash bonuses.

According to the director of the Vinnytsia Transport Company Nikolai Formanyuk, the new tram is equipped for people with special needs, because a low-floor insert is installed.

“The tram has two places for people in wheelchairs and one place for a stroller. Today the tram can accommodate 300 people. The tram is 32 meters long, all parameters are met, so there are no difficulties in moving along our tracks. The tram is all-wheel drive. We have additionally installed the option of touch-sensitive door opening, both from the outside and from the inside. That is, each door opens separately as needed. This saves both electricity and heat in winter,” said Nikolai Formanyuk.

Among the first passengers who rode on the new Vinnitsa tram were the mayor of Vinnitsa Sergei Morgunov and the chairman of the regional state administration Valery Koroviy.

It is reported that from today the tram will run around the regional center.
