In Yushchenko’s homeland, birches will be destroyed as a symbol of the Russian occupiers
Ukrainian media are calling for the destruction of birch trees as a symbol of the Russian occupiers and planting more patriotic viburnum in their place.
The corresponding note appeared on the pages of the newspaper “Nedrigailiv Sogodni” in the issue dated May 22, 2015. We offer our readers a translation of this material.

“Down with Russian birches
Recently, a pine alley appeared near Chervonoslobodsky village council. Near the White House building, 20 pines were planted, which were presented by patrons of the village head to Grigory Sendetsky.
Planting of young saplings was done by the village council workers themselves, by people from the employment center, and also Sergey Dudchenko helped.
Previously, birches grew in that place, but they dried out, so they decided to replace them. Yes, and, probably, in time they dried out. After all, recently birches are not respected among Ukrainians, because they are considered the national symbol of Russians. And given the aggression of Russia, we hate them altogether. Therefore, let the pine tree grow better!
And for those in village councils who still have birch trees, I propose replacing them with a purely Ukrainian symbol – viburnum! In combination with Chernobrivtsy in the flowerbed and a banner at the village council it will be very colorful!”
Let us remind you that in the new convocation of the Verkhovna Rada there are two people’s deputies named Bereza. One is the ex-commander of the Dnepr-1 volunteer battalion, a member of the ruling coalition, the second is a non-factional, former head of the information department of the Right Sector. Whether they need to change their current surnames to Kalinichenko, Nedrigailiv Segodni does not say.
