Russian TV began broadcasting Ukraine’s “soft power”
Ukraine should consider its success and “soft power” the launch of the humorous concert show “Diesel Show” on the Russian channel “Che” (part of the STS-media holding, against which Kyiv has imposed sanctions).
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel “Nash”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“This is the soft power of Ukraine. This is our content, through the Russian language, Russian-language comedy content. We show that in Ukraine everything is normal, fun, there is no such thing - that everything here is black, that the poor and beggars walk here, and so on. Culture is the main weapon of modern nations, if it is diverse, intelligent, and most importantly, comedic. This goes well.
I would be in favor if we made a good film in Russian. How can we improve our cinema? Well, not for English-speaking, German-speaking audiences. They may not understand.
Because somewhere we can argue, fight, we have different political cultures, but one culture is mental, Kiev-Russian, Kiev-centric,” said Vadim Karasev.
It is interesting that in Ukraine “Diesel Show” is broadcast on the ICTV channel of oligarch Viktor Pinchuk, against whom a new package of sanctions was introduced in the Russian Federation the day before.
Pinchuk's media group takes an aggressively anti-Russian position.
