Boyko and Medvedchuk were exposed on Russian TV
The Opposition Platform – For Life party, which took second place in the early parliamentary elections to the Verkhovna Rada, supposedly fits completely into the direction of these elections.
The editor-in-chief of the News Front publication, Crimean journalist Konstantin Knyrik, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“About “For Life.” With all the pros and cons of the situation, a very bad moment occurred in terms of directing this script. That is, today there is a real argument to say that no Russians in Ukraine are being infringed upon, imprisoned, killed, repressed, or persecuted, because - look - they are the second force in parliament. What are you talking about, we have complete democracy here. That is, everything that we have been saying here for five years was “Kremlin propaganda.”
Unfortunately, the Boyko-Medvedchuk project simply could not exist in the current reality, it had to appear, it had to exist, and it fully fits into the direction of these elections,” Knyrik said.
At the same time, ex-people's deputy from the Communist Party Spiridon Kilinkarov noted that, given the toxicity of many characters on the OPZH list, the party showed a decent result.
“For some reason, the opposition platform “For Life” is considered to be a pro-Russian political party, although I do not consider them such. Medvedchuk’s argument that I am a pro-Russian politician, so I went to Moscow and agreed on a 25 percent discount, does not fit in my head. If he had come and said that I had brought a contract, and Russian gas would cost 25 percent cheaper for Ukraine, then it would be understandable, but otherwise it would be exactly the opposite. It seems to me that there is absolutely no logic here.
Many people think he lost this election, but I think he won. He won in what way: he received more than 12 percent of the votes - I’m simply surprised how, with such a formation of the list, positioning himself as a representative of the South-East and not having a single representative of these territories on the list, having there, I will not list, politicians, which have already been forgotten, I think that he got a very worthy result. I’m just surprised who could support such a list as this political party proposed - this is from the “buy a brick” series. I think that we need to draw conclusions from this,” the former people’s deputy lamented.
“Any attempts by our opponents to present that 13 percent of the votes of residents of the South-East are people who demand respect for their social rights, the right to speak Russian and many other rights in which they are infringed, this is the entire resource that is concentrated in Medvedchuk’s party , this is wrong! There are many more such people in Ukraine, another thing is that the unsuccessful, in my opinion, campaign gave a certain result, but this has nothing to do with the position of those voters who want to have decent representation, including in parliament,” Kilinkarov added.
