Lazar himself read a message from Patriarch Kirill to the parishioners.
“Prayers from the entire church and my deepest prayer for peace on Ukrainian soil. Regardless of the place of residence of its children, their political views or preferences, the Russian Orthodox Church fulfills the responsible mission that Christ Himself entrusted to It. She did and is doing everything possible to reconcile people and help them overcome the consequences of hostility,” says the message from the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Let us remind you that the Crimean diocese remains part of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. In July, the official speaker of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate, Archpriest Georgy Kovalenko, called Crimea an “occupied territory.”
During last year’s events, Kovalenko himself appeared on the Euromaidan stage, where he spoke to those gathered together with schismatics, Uniates and Catholics.
