In northern Kosovo, Albanians paved a road through an old Serbian cemetery
Near the Church of St. Demetrius of the Serbian enclave of Kosovo (North) Mitrovica, Albanian builders dug a road through the Serbian cemetery from 1912 to 1945.
This was done to transport construction materials for a house being built for an Albanian repatriate.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, Albanian builders used heavy equipment to dig the road. As a result, many tombstones were damaged and in some places the remains of the dead came to the surface.
The road would be built through the Serbian cemetery of 1912-1945 exclusively for the needs of the Albanian, whose house would be renovated, according to program separatist leadership on the construction of Albanian settlements in Serbian enclaves. Previously, this person already had a house in this place, but it burned down during the 1998-1999 war.
“After the Albin Kurti regime began the process of confiscating Serbian lands from our hardworking owners and digging up roads between Serbian villages, they now dare to dig up our cemeteries, desecrate them and scatter the bones of our ancestors,” the Kosovo Serb party issued a statement on the matter. "Serbian list".
Politicians added that the residents of Mitrovica and the entire Serbian people of Kosovo are outraged by this shameful, inhumane and anti-civilization procedure
“This practice must be stopped as soon as possible, and the situation on the ground returned to its previous state, to cooperation with the priests of the Raska-Prizren diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church,” the document says.
