At a meeting in Odessa, Poroshenko silenced the local official, offering to wait until he becomes president

Odessa journalists and officials were puzzled by the authoritarian style of communication that Petro Poroshenko demonstrated at a meeting with regional activists during the presentation of the new governor Maxim Stepanov.

In particular, the president interrupted one of the heads of local authorities with the words “Put your hand down. You feel bad?". This happened during Poroshenko’s speech about increasing the budget of local authorities.

People from the audience tried to answer something to the president, but Poroshenko said: “When you become president later, I will invite you and you will speak in my place.”

“Sorry, I haven’t given you a word yet. You were appointed by presidential decree - please sit down. If you want to report any information to the president, I will give you this opportunity, sit down,” Poroshenko snapped.

Obviously, Petro Poroshenko is in this way trying to demonstrate the image of a “strict leader”, copying the tough style of communication with subordinates that the leaders of neighboring states demonstrate to the public.
