At the Tavrida site under construction in Sevastopol, the Kamaz's brakes failed and it rammed 11 cars.
In Sevastopol, at the entrance to the city on a section of the Tavrida highway that was being completed, a major accident occurred. Due to a failure of the braking system, a KamAZ truck with a trailer rammed 11 cars and then caught fire, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Sevastopol police, the accident occurred around 11:30 in the area of the village of Sugar Head.
“At 13 km of the Sevastopol-Inkerman highway, a traffic accident occurred involving 11 vehicles, 2 of which were trucks,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. “As a result of the accident, 1 person was killed and 10 were injured, including one child.”
Having gathered the cars in front into an accordion, the truck burst into flames. Fuel spilled from a broken tank onto the road. There is no word on the fate of the driver. 5 people were hospitalized.
At the moment, an investigation into the mass accident is being carried out and the issue of initiating a criminal case is being decided.
Motorists on social networks point out the clearly advanced age of the KamAZ and the difficult descent at this point of the new highway.
