On Tarkhankut they began to extort money from divers
In Tarkhankut (Western Crimea), local “entrepreneurs” are chasing Moscow and St. Petersburg divers, threatening to take away their equipment and impose a fine.
This is stated in the appeal of submariner Mikhail Seluyanov, sent to the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Crimea Sergei Strelbitsky.

Thus, during a dive in the Maly Atlesh area, people who introduced themselves as employees of the Ministry of Ecology of Crimea approached the divers, informed the vacationers that they were on the territory of a “reserve” and demanded that they leave it. At the same time, the “employees” did not show any documents.
“Without presenting any documents, instructions, etc., they informed in a rather rude manner that diving in the area of Atlesh and nearby territories (as well as travel to them) is prohibited due to the creation of a “specially protected natural area” in this place.” In response to our natural question of where we could get information about this, we were presented with some well-worn photocopies in which it was difficult to discern the coast of Crimea. There were no identifying marks indicating that they were on the territory of a “reserve” or other protected area at the entrance,” notes Seluyanov.
Having sipped unsalted, the tourists packed up their equipment and left. But the negativity from the “vacation” remained - divers are sure that “these circumstances are unlikely to contribute to the development of tourism in the Republic of Crimea, in particular in the area of Cape Tarkhankut, where divers from all over the country have been going since the times of the USSR.”
“I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the number of people scuba diving in this place makes up a fairly large proportion of tourists coming here, and the lack of basic rules and extortion will lead to the decay of this tourism industry in Crimea,” the submariners’ appeal says.
