The central Polish television channel TVP hosted a televised debate before voting in the Polish presidential election. They did not include discussions between competitors, but, nevertheless, the current President of Poland did not appear at the debate. Most sociological studies so far give Bronislaw Komorowski the largest percentage of sympathy among the Polish electorate.
Six out of eleven Polish presidential candidates spoke in favor of improving relations between Poland and Russia. Let us remember that Poland occupies perhaps the most anti-Russian position in the EU.
Candidates such as Magdalena Ogurek, Grzegorz Braun, Jacek Wilk, Janusz Korwin-Mikke, Paul Kukiz, radical Polish nationalist Marian Kowalski and Komorowski's main rival Adam Jarubas are confident that improving Russian-Polish relations is one of the first priorities of the future president. These candidates criticized the “anti-Russian phobia” spread by the current Polish government.
It is worth noting that four of the eleven candidates, Kresy.pl reports, also spoke favorably for the establishment of monarchical rule in Poland.
