The Krivoy Rog police put on a real show when they tried to seize the St. George Ribbon from the driver of the car, about whom vigilant nationally-conscious neighbors had complained.

The man’s car with the St. George’s Ribbon, which is prohibited in Ukraine, was discovered by townspeople who called the police. Then the following dialogue took place: (B-driver, P – police)

P: Do you see that you have prohibited symbols on your car?

Q: I'm 54. I grew up with this symbolism.

P: What does it have to do with growing up here?

Q: And at that. Who doesn't like this symbolism here?

P: What symbolism? What year did this symbolism appear?

Q: And you don't like it?

P: Not that I don’t like it. She's breaking the law. What country do you live in?

Q: Me? I grew up in the USSR.

P: What does this have to do with it? Where do you live?

Q: Me? In Ukraine.

P: Well, what are you hooking behind the glass?

Q: If you wear a uniform, are you handsome?

P: I earned it!

Q: And I earned it.

P: Do you know that under these tapes people are being killed in Donbass?

Q: Who invited you there? This is (gestures the neighboring houses with his hands) all the symbols of the USSR. Why don't you remove it?

P: The USSR has been gone for 30 years, why are you all talking about it?

Q: Why should I change my thinking if you want me to?

P: I will ask you to open the car so that the police can seize this item.

Q: I don’t understand. Why should you confiscate it?

P: Because you are violating the law of Ukraine.

Q: This is my religion. Well, shoot me then.

P: There is a law, and you must follow it.

Q: Who invented it?

P: President...

Q: Your president himself wore this ribbon and served under the USSR. I have a different faith, you can’t hang your faith on me.

P: We have the law of Ukraine, not faith.

Q: At the border they are shouting that Crimea is Ukraine. Why are you standing then, if Crimea is Ukraine?

Let us note that a neighbor decided to stand up for the man, who also noted that she grew up in the USSR: “Russia is Russia, that’s one thing. We were born under the Soviet Union."

A verbal altercation then continued between the police officers and the driver, at the end of which the police seized items from the car that angered the neighbors.

“50 policemen came to confiscate one ribbon. So what?" – the driver commented.

The neighbor continued to stand up for the man: “Why are you touching a man because of some ribbons? Let the president come here and show this law.”

The man noted that he considers the red-blue flag to be his flag (the flag of the Ukrainian SSR - editor's note). In response to this, the ATO soldiers hanging around nearby asked him to respect the yellow-blue flag.
