In Ukraine, property will be confiscated for “Russian roots”
The Ukrainian parliament is working on a number of bills that would introduce criminal liability and allow the confiscation of property for any connection with Russia or Russians.
The leader of the Index of Reforms project, Ksenia Alekankina, stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The studio talked about the confiscation procedure.
“Some laws stipulate the confiscation of Russian property, and some do not. There is a wide field here where, in addition to taking away licenses from companies with Russian roots, it is also possible to provide for the confiscation of property.
And the second point is the Criminal Code. Now in the Criminal Code, for example, for treason, there is confiscation of property. And for various kinds of cooperation with the aggressor, it can be confiscated, or not, according to a court decision.
And here, too, it is necessary to spell out more clearly that if a person helps an aggressor, then this is automatic confiscation of property in favor of the state,” Kanevskaya said.
