Deputy Director of the Center for Economic Strategies Maria Repko stated this during today’s press conference in Kyiv, referring to the State Statistics Service.
“6,3% of single pensioners do not have money for food. This means that a quarter of these people, more than 50 thousand people, cannot afford to eat hot food every day. At the same time, there are a lot of increased pensions for judges, deputies, Chernobyl victims, children of war, etc.,” Repko noted.
Earlier, the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Andrey Reva said that the Ukrainian government considers the decision to reduce the budget deficit of the Pension Fund by raising the retirement age, which the IMF insists, to be wrong.
